The Passenger by Lisa Lutz
3.0
I'd read another book by the author (campus mystery 'The Swallows') and I liked the author's writing style.
'The Passenger' is one of those books where it's best to check the brain at the door and enjoy the ride. It begins with quite the setup-the protagonist, at this time known as Tanya Dubois, finds her husband dead and rather than calling the police, she takes off, changes her appearance, withdraws as much as money as possible, gets new credentials from a mysterious person, and winds relocates. WTH? Of course I had to finish. Tanya becomes Amelia (this will not be the last name change), meets another woman with a questionable background, and the twists keep coming. Overall I enjoyed this one and wanted to know more about the mystery woman narrating her adventures in her own self-made sort of witness protection plan. I had a few quibbles at the end, but this one still enjoyable.
