Religion and the Decline of Magic: Studies in Popular Beliefs in Sixteenth and Seventeenth Century England by Keith Thomas
4.0
Thomas is an engaging writer; once you get past the introduction, always a chore for me in these kind of books, this book is full of interesting case studies, anecdotes and information. His anthropological influence is undeniable, as if he has written an enthrography of the 16th Century English. The major flaw, however, is his loose and indecisive conclusion.
