Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros

5.0

I dont even know where to begin. I am not one who lets the hype of a book influence me to read or enjoy a book, I am also not a fantasy reader.

This book follows Violet Sorrengail as she is sent to Basgiath War College to fight for her life in the riders quadrant after spending her life studying to be a scribe. Her mother is the general and her sister is a bad ass rider so she is expected to follow in their footsteps. Her brother was killed, he was a very adorned rider and their father dies not long after mourning his sons death. Their father was the only scribe in their immediate family, and influenced Violets passion for the scribes.
While in the riders quadrant of Basgiath she comes across Xaden Riorson, whose father was responsible for the rebellion that killed her brother. Dain Aetos her childhood best friend and someone she loved is a squad leader and he immediately makes sure she is put into his section and squad to watch over her. He underestimates her and constantly tries to make her leave for the scribe quadrant. Violet is determined to survive and bond to a dragon.

Spoilers ahead.

When I tell you my HATEEEEE for Dain is so immense I literally would kill him myself lol. Xaden is so captivating so HOT. The way that violet and Xaden are bonded in some way because of their dragons is too interesting. The world building in this book was extremely easy for someone like me who isn't into fantasy. Tairn's badd ass attitude and anger and sass had me laughing so hard. I truly was completely taken by this book I couldn't start another book for almost a week this book is now my entire personality and I DONT CARE! lol Xaden Riorson gives me Zade vibes. I never thought id find a book boyfriend that would replace Zade at the number one spot but then I met Xaden. When I tell you I cannot stop thinking of this book I'm not lying. The end was perfection. Xadens nickname for Violet had me turning into a puddle every time he said it.The sexual tension between the two was just UGHHH perfection. I love a good enemies to lovers it just does something for me. I have so many theories of what's to come but if I started... this review would never end. lol. I simply cannot wait for November and honestly I'm not a person who re-reads books but I will 100% be reading this book once again before book two comes out because I HAD to pre-order especially after the twist at the end. Im praying, begging, and PLEADING with Rebecca to be sure that Violence and Shadow Daddy are 100% end game.
