Loki: Agent of Asgard - The Complete Collection by Al Ewing

4.0

This was choppy in places and I didn't have all the background information I should have going in. Some things were confusing--HOWEVER, the characters were great and I'm still in love with Loki and I love the gender fluidity they have. Also, I loved the art, even when it changed, throughout this whole monster volume. The story reminded me of The Unwritten and also American Gods and those are both pretty good things to be reminded of. Concepts were important and I felt like there was a decent amount of "high" writing going on here. This comic is for intelligent people, to be sure.
And, the ending, loved it. Very sweet and fun and touching and the feeling I had finishing it almost made me bump up the rating to 5, but then I remembered how long it took me to get into it in the beginning and also how choppy and disjointed and confusing it could get occasionally because of jumping through/being intertwined with other Marvel universe stuff.
