Idk, the chemistry was lacking...mostly because the conversation that was needed to end their misconceptions about each other happened in the second to last chapter. Sooo, the vulnerable conversations that characters have were we feel that they get to know each other were put aside in favour of unnecessary and petty fights that were supposed to show me their chemistry how..?
More thoughts:
  • Millisent dressing as a boy was a very interesting aspect and her ability to get along with animals was cute but ended up losing significance for the plot as the story progressed.
  • Wulfric was okay, I don't have a lot of thoughts about him other than I disliked that he wanted to order his wife about, but then this is a rather realistic historical romance.
  • I loooved getting a glimpse of Reina and Ranulf! Their second son Ronald is good friends with Milli and Ranulf is a vassal to Wulfric's father Guy de Thorpe.
  • I still liked the writing, it was adequately historical.
