OMG!!!!! When I was chosen to receive this ARC from Desireé Granger, I about CRIED!! If you know me and have been following me, you know how much I LOVE the Drew Collins series and I’m truly an alumna of the BEST HBCU ever! When I first read “The Secret World of Maggie Grey,” I fell in love with Granger’s storytelling and her words. Then came “The First Family,” and I was even more in awe. Now that I’ve read “When a Wolf Loves the Moon,” I must say it is my FAVE of the series.

If you needed to be reminded - this series continuously gives vampire, werewolf, fairy and all magical vibes - for black folks! Maggie finally realizes she’s THAT girl in this one, and Namir…chile. I’m OBSESSED with them! The girls—Souxie, Asha, and Isis—are back, and we’re following their stories right alongside Maggie’s. We discover so many new things about each of them and why they are the way they are. Our boy Quan the cat is back, and I screamed at Kitty Mittens!! Bellamy was a wild card for me in book 2, but now he’s a fave. I don’t want to give away anything in the book because y’all need to read it.

This story was EVERYTHING. This book made me laugh, made me gasp, made me happy and made me proud. The ending was one of the BEST endings I’ve ever read in a book. DES – you did it, girl!!! I’m completely in awe of you and your craft, and I cannot wait for more. Thank you for allowing me to get an early read of this 5-star chick (what I call my 5-star reads).
