Flight by Sherman Alexie

5.0

Sherman Alexie at his very best. If you've never read any Alexie, this would be a great book to start with as it's only 180 pages and reads quickly. This is the story of an angry orphan teenager who has decided to shoot up a bank. Just before the first bullet hits its target he is inexplicably transported into the past, into the body of an FBI agent in the civil rights era, a young boy during the Battle of Little Big Horn, an old Indian tracker, and a pilot who unwittingly trained a terrorist. I won't ruin the end for you, but this book stayed with me for a long time. It still does. Can't recommend it enough.
