Carrie Soto Is Back by Taylor Jenkins Reid

5.0

As my need for escapism skyrockets, this book manages to do exactly that: it gave me an interesting, well crafted set of characters. Carrie Soto is very complex and her passion was quite striking to me.
I really enjoyed this book because it was almost completely about tennis, passion and perfectionism. It had little bits of romance, but it was very tasteful, never over-the-top.
I especially appreciated the focus on passion and perfectionism. It really encapsulated what it means to give it all, to dedicate everything to a passion and to attempt to overcome our limits.
I also really took to heart Carrie Soto's relationship with her dad. Definitely rocky at times, and yet they never failed to remind each other of the love and respect they felt for one another
This book came at a perfect time for me, so maybe that's why I loved it so much! Also I felt some challengers vibes and that's always fun.
