Adam Zmith's 'Solemates' dives deep down into the history of the fetish for feet, spanning centuries of work from those who came before. Such as religious figures and psychologists or "beard-strokers" with an opinion. The book begs the question "why is the foot fetish the most evil of them all?" My answer? I have no idea. Society moves in suspicious ways, but everything surrounding sex is greatly important to our health in so many ways. I take immense pride to warmly welcome anybody and everybody who has any kink or fetish because it truly is normal. It's a quirk to ourselves that we carry that makes us who we are. Sometimes bullies want to pin us down and throw shade at what they don't understand. Well I say read a book. (Intended segway to encourage you to read THIS book by Adam Zmith because it deserves your attention)
I love the history surrounding the foot fetish as we weave in and out and around through time and history to try and understand this common fetish. For many, it's not just the sight or touch of the feet themselves, but it's the power they represent depending on where you lean in terms of sexual dominance or submission. Point is, there are layers to every fetish that makes us who we are. There's nothing wrong with them, they're not hurting anybody (unless you enjoy pain *wink wink*) but you catch my drift.
Adam tries to really shed a positive light on foot fetishism so that it can help open up some awareness about it. Deep down inside all of us is a curious freak waiting to be let out. Let out to immediately be greeted by a warm, welcome and non-judgemental hug. Truly an insightful read that helped me learn a lot more about foot fetishism, and myself.
