it was a good read but not an enjoyable or easy one. I enjoyed Ivan/Margaret and slogged through Peter’s sections for most of the book—had to force myself to read it until I got like 75% through which shocked me because I finished all of Rooney’s other novels in like 3 days. This definitely feels like Literature™️. I would have more thoughts about it if I put more work into properly analyzing it.
