Dangerous Lies by Becca Fitzpatrick

2.0

This book was so bland. Not much happened in it and it mostly just felt like it was dragging on more than anything. Even at the point that you would probably call the climax I couldn’t really bring myself to care about the story. With the title “Dangerous Lies” I honestly expected a lot more danger, but what we mostly got was an unlikeable protagonist being a teenager. Like honestly, Estella is one of the most annoying protagonists that I’ve read in a while. She was bratty, and judgmental for most of the book and despite proclaiming to have ‘loved’ Reed she moved on pretty quickly to Chet. Also several issues in the book were never given full closure like we never really knew what happened to Reed?? Estella just kind of assumes that he sold her mom drugs but never followed it up to check or find out what really happened to him. Also, I would have liked more info on what was going to happen with Dusty, Inny, and the baby? Overall an was just entirely dissatisfied with this book. The only reason it got two stars instead of one is because I have in fact read worse books and I at least liked Chet okay so it had that going for it.
