Why Is There Philosophy of Mathematics At All? by Ian Hacking

1.0

Extremely disappointing. I've so enjoyed Hacking's other books and have especially appreciated his clear writing about very complex ideas,, writing that provided enjoyable challenges and resulted in new understandings. This book, however, was full of name and citation dropping (including an embarrassing amount of self citation) and was frustratingly lacking in analysis and synthesis.
