Remi was utterly awful and no one around her was holding her accountable, instead they were validating her. This also lacked emotional continuity. One second Remi is feeling remorseful about breaking up with Matt at his mother's funeral (pause for effect) and the next she's feeling annoyed that he's not paying attention to her and regretting not coming after her (even though she didn't make it possible). And this was rinse and repeat for the whole book. This plot could still have existed but the execution would have been better if Remi actually communicated with Matt where she was coming from (not being sure she's relationship material) and not allowing him to help. They're still broken up, there's still tension but it's not completely stupid. I disliked this so much I'm going to need a long break before trying again with this series.
