This is not the book I was expecting to read. Full disclosure, I bought this book after I saw a reel on IG and I was expecting a sweet, steamy small town romance. I was not expecting the heart-wrenching story this was. I cried multiple times and even through it wasn't the book I was expecting to read when I chose it, I found it compelling and devoured it in 24 hours.
Jackson and Grace are both such beautifully flawed individuals whose lives come crashing together in the most beautiful way. They reminded me a lot of Wade and Lemon from "Hart of Dixie", especially given the Southern US setting.
There were a few moments when I gasped with the plot twist or plot reveal.
You will most likely need tissues. This is rom-com, this is a beautiful drama in its most wonderful form.
