It was okay.
There was a lot of telling, rather than showing.
The author told us they were talking through the night. She told us that Alex had this person investigated and that person investigated. She told us he was this ruthless businessman. But she never showed us. What did they talk about? What was the consequences and aftermath of Liam being destroyed? How did he do it?

Also, I got major Christian Grey vibes from Alex. I have read a *lot* of books, and Alex was so determined to he this kinky, hard-core, "you can't handle me" sex God... and it just wasn't. He was hard and fast, with the occasional choking going on. That's incredibly tame for someone who would only sleep with certain women because they're the only ones who "can handle him"
