The Husky & His White Cat Shizun: Erha He Ta De Bai Mao Shizun (Novel) Vol. 2 by Rou Bao Bu Chi Rou
4.0
But that person’s warmth and tenderness were bestowed upon others while the only things offered to him were barbs and thorns. So although Chu Wanning held him in his heart, whenever that person moved, his heart would start to bleed. Day after day, new wounds appeared before the old ones had a chance to heal.
It was then that Chu Wanning knew that even if he wasn’t vying to capture this person’s affections, every single moment that he continued to hold him in his heart would hurt him to his core. He didn’t know how much longer he’d be able to bear this pain. Didn’t know when it would break him completely.
CHU WANNING I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!
I loved this second volume... It was more interesting than the first one. I laughed a lot with the adventures of Chu Wanning and Mo Ran. I'm 100% a Chu Wanning girl, I just love him so much.
The pace the story is taking is extremely interesting. Our villain is a powerful person and we still don't know much about them. I love when we get glimpses of Mo Ran's past lives. And how his character is developing is just too good.
I can't write a lot without spoilers but Chu Wanning deserves the whole world and Mo Ran is a fucking idiot.
As I usually do, I will write about my favorite characters and my favorite parts of the book.
Chu Wanning. Chu Wanning was EVERYTHING in this volume. I love how he's remembering his past life, which means he also was reborn. I wonder why he doesn't remember he was reborn. Probably so he doesn't kill Mo Ran.
His personality as Xia Sini is just too cute. I love how he's developing his friendship. I wish he would allow himself to show how he feels. He deserves to be loved back so much. My favorite characteristic of Chu Wanning is his yearning. He's the personalization of a Haitang flower. It's so sad. His love story with Mo Ran is so sad.
I'm curious to know more about Chu Wanning's powers. His spiritual core is severely damaged and Mo Ran didn't know so this is new. Otherwise, Mo Ran would have known in his past life. Also, the way the spell that makes him little works is weird. Why can't he counter it? What is missing? I believe the spell is related to his self-deprecating feelings.
Mo Ran. Mo Ran was amazing in this volume. I was surprised when they were in the Lin'an illusion and he started to wonder why he was so cold-blooded and ruined so many lives. Why he was so mad at Chu Wanning if Chu Wanning was a good person.
I loved watching his past evolve. We learn so much of what makes Mo Ran himself in this book. The story of when Chu Wanning first punished him and how he became so close to Shi Mei broke my heart. He was just a kid looking for a place to belong and was so enamored by his shizun and couldn't take the contempt in his gaze. I was heartbroken.
Mo Ran is the character that can evolve the most in the story. Change his past life and choose better actions this time. I can't wait to see what this new spell that enhances the hate and love feelings will cause in the story. He feels absurd love for Chu Wanning, which is confirmed when he speaks of the day Chu Wanning died and how his blade was named. I can't wait to read about his disasters.
Shi Mei. In this volume, I learned to appreciate more Shi Mei as a character. He's on Chu Wanning's side and has so many beautiful to say about his shizun. I loved seeing he could see the kindness of his teacher. I see why Mo Ran "fell in love" with Shi Mei.
We're introduced to so many characters whose names I barely remember. Ye Wangxin, Song Quitong, and more. I haven't felt bored or overwhelmed by their stories yet, but let's wait. I'm usually an only-main-characters girl.
The story is getting crazier. First, we have this character that is looking for a wood essence. Was this person reborn too? Is this person the one who took Bugui to Mo Ran and put a spell on him? I believe Mo Ran's ex-wife is not as innocent as she should be, but maybe I'm looking too much into it. This person knows about Shi Mei and Chu Wanning and what they meant in Mo Ran's life. And this person is becoming more and more powerful. I know it's been two years since the story began (which I love, I adore when stories advance in time and they are not all written in 3 months), but I can't but feel afraid for Mo Ran and Chu Wanning as they're facing some unexpected changes.
