Margot is one of three survivors. Returning to the Midnight House will leave Margot confronting everything she thinks she knows about the night her friends died…and possibly put her in further danger.

Honestly, the suspenseful parts of this story are great. Margot is not the most likeable character but I think you can understand her position, having faced the trauma she has. The story is well paced and engaging, with reveals and information drip feeding in at just the right pace. As with many thrillers, I’m not sure if the ending quite lived up to the promise of the book but I was guessing until the end, so I appreciated that. Also, let’s be real, we love ourselves a final girl.

Overall, I solid kick off to my spooky season reading.
