Otherworldly Izakaya Nobu Volume 2 by Natsuya Semikawa

4.0

Ahh this was such a great installment to the series. I thought that this first volume was good; however, I felt like this one was better because of the fact that we got more world building. In the first volume readers are just introduced to this special restaurant that exists in this medieval Germanic town. The people who live in the town go to the restaurant to try out Japanese cuisine. This second volume was definitely more complex and more intriguing than the first one. There was more exploration of the cuisine, but there was a glimpse of how the restaurant possibly exists and is able to sustain itself. There was also the introduction of some mythological elements. Overall, it made me really excited to check out the rest of the series. The fantastical elements mixed in with the food elements really catered to what I like in manga.
