Forever, Jack: eversea book two by Natasha Boyd

4.0

Eversea and Forever, Jack were delightful reads. Natasha Boyd writes about a romance between a Hollywood celebrity and a small town girl, a theme that has been explored in many books, but she tells the story like none I've ever read before. Her characters are realistic from the start: Keri Ann is starstruck the first time she meets Jack Eversea and his arrogance reveals him as someone who is used to getting his way. But slowly they begin to trust one another and lower their defenses and instead begin to explore their intense mutual attraction. The Hollywood drama between Jack and Audrey and the producers reveal the dark inner-workings of the film industry in a way that seems realistic to someone who has no experience with the Hollywood scene and is not overdone.
SpoilerSomething Natasha Boyd conveys extremely well is Keri Ann's fears of losing her own identity to one defined by the role Jack plays in her life. I've never really come across this in a novel - where the actor's fame counts against him rather than in his favor. This is a testament to Keri Ann's strength of character and it was very refreshing to read about.
It is heart wrenching to read about the lengths Jack goes to protect Keri Ann, and their romance is one that will captivate you from the first page of Eversea to the epilogue in Forever, Jack.
