Easy Out by Ginger Walls

5.0

Summary:

James is a baseball player for Newhouse University. He doesn’t talk much because he was picked on as a child for having a stutter. He never really noticed Lauren before but now that he has, he can’t stop wanting to get to know her.

Lauren is quiet and reserved. She grew up in Seattle spending most of her life in foster care after her mom passed away. He never really felt wanted or like she belonged. Alabama and Newhouse University is her chance to move on. She is a journalism major and has to partner with James on a project. He is friends with her roommates’ brother but she doesn’t really know him until now.

My Thoughts:

Easy Out is an emotional read. It handles parental abuse, foster care, feelings of being unwanted and not fitting in, being abandoned by a parent (father in both cases), and not always having the essentials. Walls handles these topics well.

I couldn’t put it down. The writing and storytelling was so good. Lauren and James’ characters were so well written. I can’t wait for Wyatt’s book as well as Marco, Enzo, Nash and Koa. I want a book for all the side characters.

Thank you Ginger Walls for the complimentary copy of Easy Out.
