It's a fun story with some nice hockey included, but don't worry, if the actual game isn't your jam there isn't too much player speak. But there is enough to make it fun. The characters were fun and Mika was a fun addition!!
The story is pretty low angst throughout, without too much actual drama. The pacing of the first half and the second half were a little different. The first was a slow build, and after the halfway point, things started picking up and I started to like the story more. I liked how each character acted their age. Wyatt wasn't oddly mature for a 19 year old and Emily didn't act like a child, so the author did a good job with that. I liked the dynamic between them since the age gap is noticeable (both by paparazzi and by catty WAGS). They were honestly cute together and I loved them getting to know one another.
There's some swearing and a little steam in the story.
I liked the narrators! I quite enjoy dual narration. I thought both narrators did a good job, though I liked the male voice better because I was better able to differentiate between the thoughts and the speaking of the character better than the female voice. Sometimes with her I couldn't tell the difference, but otherwise she did a good job. I listened at 1.1x speed.
