Let's Chill by Elle Jaye

2.0

It took me a week to read 27 pages. That's how I know I did not enjoy this story at all.

Let's Chillis the 3rd installment in the 90s Kind of Love series. It focuses on Carrera and Vance who Careera left at the alter when they were supposed to get married. Unfortunately, when Carrera enters this game show of sorts to marry a man she doesn't know, she ends up being paired with none other than Vance. I thought that the premise of this story was interesting; however, the poor editing and poor execution of the story made it almost unreadable. There were sections of the book where quotation marks for talking characters were placed incorrectly or were not used at all. Words were misspelled throughout the book until it became glaring. I've been reading a lot of indie romance and I understand that they do not always have the financial means to acquire an editor the same way traditional romance writers do. I'm typically gracious with how I view grammatical errors, misspellings, etc; however, this book read as if it wasn't edited at all or no one took the time to proofread. As a result, the story itself was interrupted constantly not allowing me to focus on the story at hand. I lost interest in them quickly and didn't care how the story turned out. I'm not against trying more from this author, but this just didn't work for me as reader.
