This is borderline porn with plot.

There is a lot of sex while the relationship develops in the background, which I quite liked, even though I didn't get the punch in the stomach that a focus on feelings give me.

There is not a lot of actual conflict here. The little there is mostly takes place in David's head, and could have been solved with communicaiton.
