Not interesting as novels so much as the challenge they set me as a parent knowing that my eleven year old is utterly addicted to them. Had I known that these actually were great deal more, er, adult than Alex Rider, I might have put a ban in place. Having caught up with them after my son's consumed about fifteen (the author cranks them out at an alarming rate), I'm already as red as a beetroot at the thought of the conversation we're going to have to have. Or else I'm just going to have to accept a few other home truths a little earlier than expected...
