I Sexually Identify as an Attack Helicopter by Isabel Fall

5.0

the drama that surrounded this story like some kind of malignant cloud is just unbelievable to me. this is one of the best short stories i've read in a while. the writing is very calculated so that every couple of paragraphs would set up a single, short sentence to just knock you out completely. incredibly moving stylistically and also not something i've seen before conceptually. deserves the same accolades as  martha wells and ann leckie's musings on gender/autonomy/personhood because it is truly that powerful. i hope the author is doing well, i think i'll die mad that she was pushed out of the SFF publishing arena because of the debacle surrounding the title.
