Rule of the Aurora King by Nisha J. Tuli

5.0

Well, I am so grateful that this book was able to get me out of my LONGGGG on and off reading slump. I was unable to put this book down, and it had me giggling and kicking my feet. Nadir is just UGHHH I love him.

With that being said, it was not a perfect book. I keep bouncing back and forth between rating it 4.5 stars or 5, but I’m sticking with 5 because the vibes were exactly what I needed.

Things I liked: The banter between Lor and Nadir!!! The tension was just *chef’s kiss* and I NEED more. I also loved the dual POVs so much. Getting insight to Nadir’s thoughts are 10/10. I always love getting to see what the love interest actually thinks about the main character. Another thing I really enjoyed were the side characters, but I do think that they deserve more lines (again, hopeful that they will be more prevalent in the next two books). Their mini “friend” group gives ACOTAR vibes, which I love!

Things I didn’t like: I found there to be some sentences or sentiments that were repeated a little too much. Maybe they serve a greater purpose, but they were a bit annoying (not enough to deter me from reading the book). The back and forth between Nadir and Lor got a little frustrating at times, especially because it happened every single time they reached a good place. Thankfully, there are two more books for them to work their shit out. One last thing is that I wish there was a bit more focus on the plot. I know it’s a romantasy, but I find them to be more enjoyable when the plot is talked about more.

Overall, it’s a fun romantasy book that’s an easy read, so if that’s what you’re looking for, definitely read it!
