An absolutely delightful reread. The sections in the Shire, Rivendell, and Lorien feel like visits with old friends. Moria and Caradhas still feel dangerous. The Fellowship itself is such a beautiful connection of friendships, from Merry and Pippin and Sam insisting to Frodo that they would go literally anywhere for him, to Legolas and Gimli becoming unlikely but fast friends and carrying on the link between mountain and forest. Wonderful as always.
