The Midnight Line: A Jack Reacher Novel by Lee Child

4.0

Throughout most of this book, I was very interested and engaged. The reason I did not give it 5 stars was that I found the ending very disappointing. It seemed to lack detail and was very truncated. It left one of the main characters, who was followed in great detail throughout the book, unaccounted for and unresolved. It was almost like the author got tired near the end and decided to just stop the plot for which he spent an entire book building, without the same level of development. I have seen this pattern in several popular authors lately where they seem to just be putting in the time with their formulaic plots (which I still enjoy) without much commitment or effort.
