I liked many aspects of this book. Gaining the perspectives of the American Soldiers after the War, the lives of Vietnamese women during the war and the Amerasian man looking for his father. 

I would have continued on with this story but I had to skip an entire chapter because of the graphic sexual descriptions and after a while, I only really was interested in Phong’s perspective.  

I felt like the scenes that were in here were unnecessary to tell the story. They could’ve faded to black and we would’ve understood.
