I've found a new series I think I'll become obsessed with in Rebecca Parcha's Untish Series after reading book one; Fangs of Fate.

With a fearless badass of a FMC in Tate Aaralyn we're swept away into a world of vampires who used modern technology in a manner that makes sense and isn't either too advanced or has them looking like they've freshly risen after 4 centuries which often occurs. Tate will stand out to the reader from the get go as she's not only fierce, but has morals that cross species and judgment of others - she wants to use her abilities (and need to feed) for some level of good. She's somewhat of a vampire vigilante and I liked that about her. There's also the way she remains loyal and loving to the memory of her mother even if it could hurt and isolate her from those around her.

What especially stands out though about Tate Aaralyn is she is unabashedly her no matter what is happening around her. Some moments had me shaking my head whilst amused and others wanting to reach through the pages to shake a little sense and self-preservation into her.

Parcha also gives us some amazing characters who add more to the story, both Tate's and the overall one of Fangs of Fate. Everyone that the author has given the reader adds something to the story, and gives context and depth to this evocatively written introduction to this series. I think many people will love Aether and add him to the collection of book males that are revered because he's perfect even if he has faults at times. I'd say that's what makes him human; but he's not.

The world building is brilliantly done, and brings everything to life and draws the reader into the Untish series perfectly so we're running alongside these vampires as everything they know falls apart. (No spoiler but let's be honest- chaos does bring about a good story doesn't it?)

There's spicy scenes that are written with thought so there's a natural blend of evocative imagery, but it's also not over the top and makes sense for the characters, situations etcetera and I found it didn't jar the narrative in any way as some can.

I'm so glad I got to read this, I'm eager for book two and know I'm going to love these series for a long while because I love fantasy, vampires and chaotic situations with well written characters.
