Honestly another great Daphne du Maurier story. I really enjoyed reading this one, but I’m so sad that she didn’t run away at the end.
Although having said that… it’s left open to the imagination that they may meet again in the future (I choose to believe that they grow old together in a cottage in Finistère and he finally cooks her that spit roasted chicken on the beach).
