Gian by Natalia Lourose

Overall in regards to writing quality and plot the third book was by far the best of the series.
I was excited to read Gian's book after reading the blurb and seeing him be this cold aloof man adjusting to the role of Mafia boss in the previous books.
I have to admit though I was disappointed by the character development and pace. I never really got any true depth from either Gian or Rhea when it comes down to it. And Rhea's combative attitude throughout their entire marriage was exhausting and yet they somehow managed to screw each other every chance despite their dislike/contention between one another. It felt wooden and shallow. Something about it didn't flow for me. I didn't get a organic progression into them falling in love with one another. Sure, there was some stuff to build with but not enough IMO.
The story plot was pretty interesting but ultimately the shallow like story telling between the MCs Rhea and Gian left me disappointed and feeling like something was missing. I never got that spark from them regardless of Rhea's "sass" and Gian loving it.
If you're not a mafia book snob and have read as many as me you'll probably love this one and not be as picky as I was tbh.
