Ok, I wasn’t sure about Ronan in the first book. But this second book really fleshed him out. He became more human to me, his thoughts and fears were relatable. There’s still a lot going on with Adam that I want to understand. I’m also surprised at how much Maura and the other psychics are implemented in the books. Usually in YA the adults are pushed to the side lines but not in the Raven Cycle. I love their bantering relationship and the introduction of Maura’s plot line. It is kind of funny, I’m coming up on book three and they’re no closer to finding the lost Welsh king. But I’m ok with that because these books seem to be mostly about the characters’ relationships with each other and there’s a lot of rich story telling in that.
