6/17/24: (4.5 stars) Pretty good book!! I watched the movie first, so I was kind of surprised that Beck, not Lewis, was the person that went out on the tether to save Watney. Made me kind of annoyed that Beck, in the movie, was kind of shoved into the background.
I loved Mark's positivity, even though he planned for every outcome, even his death. It's slightly unrealistic how positive he was, but inspiring all the same.
2/27/25: (5 stars) Rereading this book was so comforting! I know that a book about being left behind on Mars and pretty much doomed to die usually wouldn't be considered a comfort book, but it is mine!! This is one of my favorite books of all time!
