In the Plex: How Google Thinks, Works, and Shapes Our Lives by Steven Levy

4.0

Well I finished reading Steven Levy’s In the Plex: How Google Thinks, Works, and Shapes Our Lives and I have to say I really enjoyed it. I wasn’t expecting this particular title to be as informative and entertaining as it was; indeed, books of this type can be boring, but thankfully this one was not. The manner in which Levy executed his prose was done with expertise. Clear and concise, Levy’s text never bordered on the mundane.

The one criticism I do have, however, is that I sometimes felt that some of the topics being covered were never fully completed and that certain outcomes of situations and/or dilemmas would not get written. This was most unsatisfying. Levy would switch over to another topic (leaving the reader thinking that he would at some point return) only to leave the former topic dangling ad infinitum.

Nonetheless, disregarding this criticism for a minute, if you are looking for one of the most detailed and (more importantly right now) up-to-date books on Google, than In the Plex: How Google Thinks, Works, and Shapes Our Lives is just the right book for you.
