Misery by Stephen King

5.0

*EDIT AFTER INITIAL REVIEW* 5 ⭐️: alright, so my initial complaints have morphed into complete obsession. I have hardly stopped thinking about this book since I read it. The suspense, the disturbing attacks, all of it are haunting me. And I feel like I cannot in good conscience leave a book that stays with me like that at a 3 star rating. Gg Stephen, my bad

ORIGINAL REVIEW/RATING: 3 ⭐️ This book was so disorienting. Even now, I can’t tell if I liked it or not. I couldn’t give it less than three stars, because I did gobble it up in a day and a half, and the anticipation/suspense was incredible. But I also couldn’t give it 5, or even four stars because of how lengthy and scrambled some parts felt. I know that it is meant to put you in the headspace Paul was in throughout, but there were times it didn’t feel intentional. I still maintain that it’s worth the read for anyone who likes suspense and can handle some gore.
