Chenyasha by Arnav Agrawal
2.0
Chenyasha by Arnav Agrawal is an ambitious tale from a 13-year-old author, blending sports drama with action-packed heroics. The story follows Chen Yi, a 21-year-old Table Tennis player from Taiwan competing in the Olympic final in Paris.
When terrorists attack the venue, Chen courageously helps officials save lives and joins forces with Asashi, a Japanese commander, under the codename XB-2. After facing several terrorist threats, Chen returns to his match and wins the final.
While the premise is creative, the execution feels disjointed. The plot jumps between high-stakes action and sports without a clear narrative flow, leaving readers unsure of the main focus. Characters lack depth and background, making it difficult to emotionally connect with them. Additionally, the abrupt ending leaves several questions unanswered.
Arnav's imagination is commendable, and his courage to publish at such a young age is inspiring. However, the story would benefit from stronger character development, a more cohesive plot structure, and refined editing.
Despite its flaws, Chenyasha showcases Arnav’s potential. I encourage him to keep writing and learning, as his creativity is a promising foundation for future work.
