If it hadn't been for the last 10%, this book probably would have received four stars.

The majority of it was enjoyable and better than the first book. The science was interesting, the background into the characters was interesting and I loved seeing Herran's character develop more.

But then that ending happened and it was a case of EVERYTHINGMUSTHAPPENINTHELAST50PAGES! Annnnnd it just killed it for me. It all felt a little too coincidental, and rushed.
