I felt like the premise sounded good and the world sounds interesting but it has all been done before. This has elements of From Blood and Ash with bodyguard romance. Twilight vampire teenage love. The relationship between Emelie and Kyle was too instant love/lust with no real foundation. She seemed like a loner who doesn't like or trust anyone but suddenly she has a hot guard and it's all good and she will lie for him. Her parents are obviously aware but leave her in his care when she is the heir to the Raven legacy... just lots of weird plot holes and not enough build up or tension. It definitely has some good bones but not for me. DNF 30%
