Blood Flowers by Jay McGuiness
slow-paced
3.5
I really really liked the premise of the story, but I wish it was flushed out more. Topics were explained, but it also felt as things were not. Overall I got the idea, but branching it out more definitely would’ve helped.
I liked the concept of Cobbleside and Roofside giving that contrast between classes & how they’re treated. The characters were good and I did enjoy them. The ending felt very opened ended so I’m hoping there will be more.
I highly enjoyed Jay’s writing and how it flowed so nicely. I would love to see this story and world expanded further! A really good first novel for Jay and I hope to read more from him!
