I loved this book. We had to read it for summer reading in high school, but most kids chose to read Of Mice and Men. I didn't think I would like this book at all, but boy was I wrong. I fell in love with the characters almost immediately. Phineas was the first character I ever found myself emotionally invested in; I wanted him to get better and have a great life and just continue to be a wonderful person. But this book gave me a quick dose of reality. I loved it. Thank you, John Knowles.
