I think the fact that I have been "reading" this book for over a year should tell you everything you need to know. it was my backpack book for a while last year, because my copy is a $2 paperback with a pre-bent cover. if I had the opportunity to read something else, I did. probably not a great sign.
I finally decided that now was the time to finish more things I started during last year's reading slump by listening to the audiobooks, after I finished 1984 that way a few days ago. I do think it's safe to say that a book you haven't actually finished (but also don't want to officially DNF) is probably always going to be a 3 to 3.5 star book. if I haven't felt the need to read it for a full year, there's no way that's a proper four stars.
anyways, the audio flew by in a way that the physical book's long chapters really didn't for me. it's not a bad book by any means, I just didn't feel that attached to it.
