Did not finish book. Stopped at 13%.
One for the "life's too short to read books you don't like" pile. Even after a few short pages, I agree with the reviews saying this book tries too hard to be clever.

I could barely get through the first page and its overlong convoluted sentences. I read the initial reflection on the colour blue four or five times, and still didn't get it. The formatting of dialogue later on made everything all the more confusing and hard to follow.

Most of all, there wasn't a single thing that kept me wanting to read on. Not the writing, not the narrator, not the older woman talking to her in the first chapter and definitely not her story. I realised I wasn't even interested in seeing how it would end, and just gave up.
