I have not read any of the stories about the grown-up Precious Ramotswe, but this book has certainly encouraged me to get into them. Precious and the Monkeys is pitched just-right for middle-grade readers, especially when paired with the great illustrations. Precious' character is described and developed well, into a very likeable, thoughtful girl.
