I got so much more out of this book as an adult than I did in middle school. Even though the main character, Jonas is around middle school-age, I think at that age we don't have enough experience to really understand the nefariousness of the government in the book. We also don't know enough to relate the plot to our own lives or how the political environment we're living in is so similar to the book. Wonderful read; made me tear up a lot and really think about our choices.
