Memoirs of a Space Traveler: Further Reminiscences of Ijon Tichy by Stanisław Lem

3.0

Lightweight allegories for humanities woes in a science fiction setting, which are very proud of themselves. It's like Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

This is readable, but not the philosophical tour de force that it was advertised as. Ursula K. LeGuin had already published several significantly harder-hitting novels with genuine philosophical and moral insight by the time this was first released, and I wish I had reread one of those with the time spent here.
