Wonder City Stories by Jude McLaughlin
4.0
Sometimes the entwining plot lines grew confusing, but they all came together and made sense, so I'm mostly willing to forgive that. The characters are varied, and intetesting--teen superheroes, elderly retired heroes, the children who want nothing to do with the business... all gathered in a city full of heroes and disasters.
The relationships, family, friendships, and romantic, are sometimes a little overly complicated, too. But many if them are sweet, well-developed, and fun to watch unfold. There's plenty of diversity, and some weird asides (dragon collectors, aliens, ghosts). And the world is certainly intriguing, full of wonders.
