A stranger is stalking thirteen year old, Jason. At first, The Stranger only haunts Jason’s dreams. It’s frightening, but it’s a fear that fades in the light and in the company of Jason’s friends. Of course, that sanctuary doesn’t last. The Stranger isn’t just a disturbing dream figure. He is all too real. He’s terrifyingly powerful, and he’s getting closer.
Thunderland, Massey’s first novel, set a vibrant stage for the storyteller the author would quickly grow into. Massey fans will notice his skill for pacing and making even pleasant things feel sinister in this early work. The story is fast paced, barely giving readers time to process before the next unnerving thing happens. This supernatural thriller is the kind of story that begs for a Channel Zero adaptation.
Please, someone bring back Channel Zero.
