Bayou Moon by Ilona Andrews

5.0

4.5, actually, rounded off to 5 stars. Would've reviewed this earlier, but I've been on study mode for the past 2 weeks and I wanted to re-read it before I reviewed it. I'll probably review this again later when I am free to add more stuff.

The second book is totally different from the first. I thought the first book had a sort of nice fairy-tale feel. Rose is poor, Declan is handsome and rich. But Rose can flash and kick ass and have Declan out of her doorstep. xD

William didn't stand out much to me in the first book, but in Bayou Moon, you get to understand him much more and know all about him as well as get introduced to Cerise Mar and her family as well as a new twisted villain.

Cerise, just like Rose, is selfless and always thinks of the good of her her family. Her parents are kidnapped and she has to remain strong and be in charge of her family.

Ilona Andrews knows how to give her characters heart. Her dialogue is snappy and never bores. The world is rich and unique, which is something that always amazes me. The battles and suspenseful and bloody and well-written.

There is mystery, even almost towards the end which I really love. A world full of monsters and magic, you will be swept off in a fun and intriguing world.
