One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig
4.0
This two books takes me about a week to finish- AND THAT'S BECAUSE OF THE HEART WRENCHING SCENES IN IT OH MY GOD-
Let's talk about the first book of The Shepherd King duology. I swear when I started to read this, it was very confusing because so many weird words like wha- but I slowly get through it, as a newfound lover of fantasy, and the book hooked me until the very end.
I love love love Elspeth with my heart. She's attentive and caring and oh so courageous.
Ravyn? Don't get me started with this cold dude. He's peachy as ever with his stares and glares. I love his little smiles that's only for Elspeth ( shut up, you love everything about him- ). And obviously our rotten as egg prince, Elm! He was a bit annoying in the first book but we coping with annoying men because why? They all are in this book ( again, shut up, you literally thought they were all hot with slight issues in their heart underneath that gorgeous body and glamorous hair- ). I'm just kidding. They all are the most interesting characters by far and I love so much how Rachel wrote every characters with their own personalities, even the side characters. It's like a hug to my book loving soul.
Anywayyyy, let us conclude that the first book was a bit slow in the first part but the second part? The storyline, the pacing, the characters- God, were they making me missing sleep!! I need to know what happened like woahhhhhh, go get em, Elspeth! My heart was beating wild with this one. Lets just jump into the second book ( CAN'T WAIT!! )
So, let us end on a note of
be wary, be clever, be good.
